University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Hawks Championship Center
The Hawks Championship Center is a multipurpose facility that features a full-length field identical to Memorial Stadium’s—with even the same high-tech turf material. Available to all UNL varsity teams, the field provides a controlled environment with excellent lighting and sound.
A 70-foot peak allows for practicing punts and kicks, while a crown and drainage system allow the field to be washed. Large overhead doors provide easy access for moving large equipment. The field is used for soccer and baseball practices as well. The Championship Wing includes an Olympic-sized sand volleyball court for UNL’s volleyball team, with sand that is washed and polished to prevent dust.
The Hawks Center also offers clinic space for 1,000 people and hosts the city’s largest sports clinics, such as youth sports camps and activities for the Cornhusker State Games. A skybridge connects the center to the strength and conditioning facilities inside Memorial Stadium.
