University of Nebraska-Lincoln, College of Engineering Kiewit Hall
Clark & Enersen, in collaboration with another architecture firm, was selected by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to design Kiewit Hall. The new, $115 million state-of-the-art engineering building serves as the College of Engineering’s academic hub and a prominent new gateway building for the university campus.
This building introduces a new flavor of architecture to the campus, creating an important draw to a key program within the university. The facility features teaching laboratories, hands-on learning environments, and a wealth of community spaces to drive student engagement and collaboration. Additionally, this project seeks to increase diversity, recruitment outcomes, and retention through the design of transparent, welcoming spaces that put students at the forefront.
The building integrates deeply into the context of adjacent buildings and the surrounding site, providing areas for outdoor learning, recreation, and community engagement.
The building was designed to LEED Gold and WELL Silver standards.
