University of Missouri-Kansas City, Youngblood Medical Skills Laboratory
Clark & Enersen provided architecture, laboratory planning, construction administration, and mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering services for the Youngblood Medical Skills Laboratory at the University of Missouri-Kansas School of Medicine. Located on the university’s Hospital Hill campus, adjacent to the UMKC’s Schools of Medicine and Nursing, the facility features state-of-the-art medical training simulators and associated medical skills teaching spaces.
The design enables students to receive hands-on, experiential training in skills such as intubation, suturing, and OB GYN, all in one flexible, centralized location. The facility also serves as the teaching facility for the Masters of Science in Anesthesia program as well as the School of Medicine’s standardized patient, BLS, and ACLS training programs.
