Schuyler Central High School, Addition and Renovation
Clark & Enersen was selected by Schuyler Community Schools to complete an addition and renovations to the high school. The addition features a 1,500-seat gymnasium with a new commons area, kitchen and foodservice counter, locker rooms, training room, health classroom, and storage areas. It is home to the basketball, wrestling, and volleyball teams, while also serving as a center for large school and community gatherings.
Renovations involved updating the school’s existing bleachers and original gym, which can also be used as a theater and cafeteria space. The original gym was also renovated to create appropriate theater sitting, as well as to improve acoustics, lighting, heating, and air conditioning, all of which allows for the space to be utilized primarily for performing arts, dance, music, and drama.
Phase I of construction began in 2019 and included the addition, while Phase II began in May 2020 and covered renovations of the gym, kitchen, and theater space. The project was completed in January 2021.
