Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Addition and Renovation

Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Addition and Renovation

Clark & Enersen provided program verification, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, and engineering services for the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church’s renovation and new addition. The project involved renovating roughly 7,300 square feet of space and building a 5,144-square foot addition.

Highlights include:

  • New building canopy and a brick façade that’s reminiscent of the church’s original exterior.
  • New roof line that complements a 2005 renovation and the building’s original orientation.
  • Layered addition that seamlessly fits in with nearby schools and the neighborhood as a whole.
  • Expanded and consolidated office area.
  • Additional space for the Caring Cupboard.
  • Adult Bible study areas.
  • New children’s ministry and youth area and a nursery.
  • New sacristy that serves the recently-renovated sanctuary.
  • Features that maximize natural light in all spaces.

Another aspect of the design focused on improving flow between services for the worship space, children’s education space, offices, and fellowship areas. This entailed a thoughtful approach to the interior design to encourage opportunity for casual interaction and fellowship.
