Kansas State University, Mosier Hall, Pet Health and Nutrition Center
Clark & Enersen worked with Kansas State University to create the Pet Health and Nutrition Center inside the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Mosier Hall. The main goal of the project was to facilitate an authentic primary care experience for students and provide ample space for performing medical procedures.
The facility shared several resources with the specialty hospital, so the renovation added:
- Six examination rooms to meet a growing small animal caseload.
- Dedicated waiting room.
- Primary care transaction desk.
The new Pet Health and Nutrition Center enhances the College of Veterinary Medicine’s educational capacity in preventive medicine, basic procedures, small business management, and client communication. It was designed following all of the recommendations of a certified feline-friendly practice and features space and equipment for short anesthetic procedures and basic radiographic imaging, similar to a private veterinary practice.
Faculty can provide learning objectives in applied principles of communication training and small business management, including key performance indicators and wellness packaging. The state-of-the art facility will attract externship students from colleges of veterinary medicine across North America for advanced training in primary care and nutrition.
