Kansas State University, Global Center for Grain and Food Innovation
Clark & Enersen was selected by Kansas State University to design the new Global Center for Grain & Food Innovation (GCGFI), as well as to complete renovations at Call Hall and Weber Hall. The GCGFI will be a nearly 140,000-gross-square-foot facility with specialized teaching and research laboratories for grain, milling, and food science; flexible research labs for interdisciplinary investigation; a modern 160-seat lecture hall, and collaborative meeting spaces for students and research teams. This project will help to consolidate the department of Grain Science and Industry’s teaching and research programs, which are currently spread across five structures across the main campus.
Call Hall improvements will include renovating and expanding the dairy bar and creamery/dairy pilot plant, refreshing public and common spaces, converting research labs on Level 1 into office space, and completing various building-wide electrical system upgrades. Renovations at Weber Hall will include ADA accessibility updates, building-wide electrical upgrades, updates to the Meats lab, abattoir, and classroom, research lab renovations/upgrades, converting a teaching lab into office space, and refreshing common spaces, among other improvements.
