Fort Collins East District Parks Maintenance Facility Achieves LEED Gold Certification
We are thrilled to announce that the new City of Fort Collins East Park Maintenance Facility has achieved LEED Gold certification. Clark & Enersen led the design of the maintenance facility, which is strategically located to maximize efficiencies for daily maintenance tasks through housing and storage of localized parks equipment. Sustainable design features and areas of impact include:
Site Infrastructure
- EV Charger Infrastructure installed for future use.
Water Efficiency
- 75% Reduction in Outdoor Water Use for Irrigation (from baseline).
- 27% Reduction in Indoor Water Use (from baseline).
Energy & Atmosphere
- 82% Reduction in Energy Use (from baseline).
- 80% Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions (from baseline).
- Use of Photovoltaic Panels to generate up to 75% of the building annual energy needs.
Materials & Resources
- Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for 44% of specified products.
- 50% of construction and demolition waste diverted from landfill.
Indoor Environmental Quality
- 100% Low-Emitting Materials were used for flooring, composite wood, & insulation.
- Occupant-controlled thermal and lighting, for better occupant comfort.

The 6,000-square-foot East Park Maintenance Facility consists of office space for district parks crews and maintenance bays for servicing equipment and vehicles. It also features a large maintenance yard used for vehicular parking, landscape supplies, seasonal equipment storage, a fueling station, trash dumpsters, recycling bins, and enclosed tool storage.
